This is an interactive guide to the geography, flora, and fauna of the Ragged Mountain Natural Area, a 980-acre preserve situated around the Ragged Mountain Reservoir just west of Charlottesville, Virginia. By navigating through the Explorer you will be taken on a tour of ten unique natural plant communities that have been identified within the preserve, and introduced to a few of the distinctive species found in each. Use your mouse to pan and zoom the map to explore the area in more detail, and click the Layers button to turn imagery, terrain, and other layers on and off.
