Visited an amazing deep-red scarlet oak in the fall (UVA premises). I did so to have a closer look at the acorns, and ended up leaving with a hand full of fallen leaves.
I pressed them between heavy sheets of paper under about 20 pounds. They retained color and dried fully.
Carefully selected shapes within a pile of leaf variety…laid them out loosely until a final design was created.
Glued each piece down, one by one, with a drop or two of modge podge (decoupage glue).
Photographed with care to stabilize the camera so that some detail could be retained.
Oh I love it Devon. I can't wait to get things going again. SPRING HURRY … PLEASE!
Thank you for sharing this.
